Welcome to our blog!

Well, after much prodding from several friends, I decided to start a blog about our crazy Wentrcek life! Wyatt and I were married in July of 2008 (it was a GREAT party!) and have enjoyed so much our (almost) 2 years of married life together! Being able to be together and share everything with each other has been such a blessing to us both! God definitely knew what he was doing when he brought the two of us together! Every day we are laughing at each other or at some silly thing we've done or said! We are living in Spring right now, and I'm teaching 3rd grade and absolutely LOVE my team! Wyatt is a youth minister and is having fun with the teens. I'm about to start grad school next week and should be finished by December of 2011. Hopefully after that I will be on my way to becoming a principal in the near future!

Last June, we added Cleo to our clan here in Spring! She is a precious kitty that my mom found in the pasture while walking with the dogs. She's been such a fun addition to our tiny little family, and she definitely keeps us laughing. This past Christmas, she had our tree destroyed within a week. Guess we won't be putting the tree up right after Thanksgiving anymore! It looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss book after she was through with it! She was just curious and wanted to climb and play... She also likes to climb into the very top of our closet and somehow wedge herself into our mostly closed suitcase. However, a couple of weeks ago, she climbed in and then knocked the suitcase off onto the floor. I of course screamed for Wyatt, and when he came to her rescue, she just peeked out, shook her head, and went on about her business, totally unfazed by the (I thought) traumatic event! Hopefully her kitten stage will end soon, and she'll be too good for us like every other cat I've known. Until then, we'll just continue to laugh with her!

This past February, we found out that we are about to add a 3rd (human) member to our family! We are expecting our first baby on November 4th! This news has brought so many changes already...from my every growing belly, to all books lying around the house being about babies/pregnancy/father-to-be. Wyatt has been a perfect saint through the pregnancy so far, and I know he'll continue to be as wonderful as always! One of the first things he said to me after we found out we were pregnant was "You're the most beautiful pregnant woman I've ever seen." Keep 'em coming, babe! :o) We had our first ultrasound at 8 weeks and saw the heart beating. Of course it just looked like a little fluttering blob, but it was amazing! So amazing, in fact, that part way through, I noticed Wyatt was sitting down in the chair near the bed. Afterwards, when I asked him why he sat down, he said, "I thought I was going to pass out babe...just from the thrill of it all!!" I'm thinking I might need a second coach in the delivery room, since he might not be able to make it through the "thrill" of the birth!

The next ultrasound, at 12 weeks, was much cooler because we could see fingers and toes! She said it was only the size of my pinky...I'm just so amazed at how much is developed at each stage! This is definitely a miracle in the making! God is so good!

This pregnancy has brought with it many amusing quotes from Wyatt that I will continue to post for your viewing pleasure! One of my favorites so far has been "Why do they call it a 'bun in the oven?' Why don't they call it a delicious cake?" These are things I don't know, babe.

We had another ultrasound at 19 weeks, and were able to see so many details on our baby! It's amazing what they can see in there! The ultrasound tech also switched to some 3D images, so that was neat to see as well! However, since it's still so early on, they said that the 3D ones don't look so great since the baby doesn't have much fat on it! She was right...we decided that it looked a little like a melting snowman, since the arms were so skinny! One 3D image was weird and bubbly (if you've seen one, you know what I mean) and my dad said it "looked like a rutabaga." Gotta love my funny father! :o)

So, the rest of my summer will be spent finding childcare and setting up the nursery....all in the midst of starting grad school online! Call me crazy, I know, but I figured my plate just wasn't full enough! My mom always said my eyes were bigger than my stomach! I work well under pressure, though, so all is well! I know Wyatt will continue to be the perfect supportive husband and father! Speaking of father, on Father's day, Wyatt was able to feel the baby move for the first time! He was thrilled! The "flutters" have progressed to more of a "poking" these days.

As of right now we are 22 weeks along, and no, for all you anal planners out there, we aren't finding out what we're having. I'd just decorate in red anyway, so why not keep myself (and everyone else) in suspense for a little longer? So as of now, we just refer to it as "the baby" or "Baby Wentrcek."

More updates and amusing Wyatt quotes to come!
